Malacca

Dubbed the “Historic State”, Malacca is one of the 13 States of the Federation of Malaysia, sprouting from the eponymous heritage city. Located on the Straits carrying the same name, until the XV century was ruled by one of the earliest Malay sultanates, which then became a Portuguese colony in 1511. Visiting Malacca is a unique experience with a rich historical and cultural background from previous Portuguese, Dutch and British rule, alongside with ancient Chinese influence that originated the culture of Baba Nyonya. The city centre was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in July 2008,
