West Malaysia

Also known as Peninsular Malaysia or Malay Peninsula, it’s the part of continental Malaysia which stretches between Thailand (North) and Singapore (South). On the East coast, facing the South China Sea, are many Islands, such as the Perhentian. On the West there’s the Straits of Malacca, which separates Malaysia from Indonesia. The capital Kuala Lumpur is located on this part of the Country, surrounded by the State Selangor. Heritage cities of Malacca and George Town (Penang), among others, are located here. A the centre of the Peninsula there are large protected areas such as the Taman Negara or Belum Temenggor.
