This day trip idea is the best opportunity to hike through Bako National Park trails discovering the unique rainforest of Sarawak with its mangroves, beach vegetation and cliffs. Proboscis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, wild boars, monitor lizards and numerous species of birds and insects are amongst the commonly spotted animals at Bako. The park’s coastline is dotted with small bays, coves and beaches where you can relax and enjoying the surrounding nature.
Being a protected area, the excursion takes place with a nature guide; please notice you may be in a small group with other people during the hike. The way to reach Bako National Park is partially covered on board of a small boat. We recommend to have with you a waterproof backpack, suitable shoes and outfit, mosquito repellent, a raincoat, a hat, a pair of binoculars, swimsuit, towel and a canteen with plenty of water.
