Georgetown was founded on 11 August 1786 by Captain Francis Light, a trader for the British East India Company, on Penang Island. The British colony attracted large communities of Chinese, Arab, Thai and Burmese, together with the Indians coming from the British India. You can appreciate the heritage left by these communities in the rich historical architecture found in the city center where english colonial buildings are together with chinese and hindu temples, churches, mosques all in an intriguing architectural fusion unique in the world.

You will visit all of this in a  half a day tour riding a bicycle, to give you a kind of experience as close as possible to what it was in the old days. We recommend to have with you a sunscreen, a hat, a raincoat, as well as a canteen to keep you hydrated during the riding in the tropical heat. The departure is from Tg. City Marina (Beside Jetty Bus Terminal).
