If you’re a rider and love to travel and wander on wheels, then this experience is for you: visit rural Sarawak on motorbikes in the company of a local person that will drive you away from Kuching to discover unique places on the road. The itinerary will include a stop at a local Orangutan sanctuary and a Bidayu longhouse (one of the native people’s of Sarawak Borneo). Your ride will stretch as far as getting close to border with Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of Borneo. The whole journey is on low-powered motorcycles (110cc), which will provide a safe drive through the most scenic panoramas.
Departure is from your hotel lobby in Kuching as per your request. We recommend to have with you a waterproof backpack with the bare minimum – you could leave the excess baggage at your hotel in town. We also recommend you have a valid travel insurance that covers sport activities as driving by scooters and motorbikes might not be covered by an ordinary travel insurance. Don’t forget to have with you: suitable outfit and shoes, mosquito and insect repellent, salt or a lighter for leeches, a raincoat (even a disposable one will do), a hat, a canteen and your swimsuit (you will also stop by small rivers and waterfalls in which you may want to bathe in).
Please note – very important – you will need an international driving license valid for 110cc bikes. You need to have a valid document before departure/arrival in Kuching or the local guide may refuse to leave as a driving license is compulsory by the law and requested by insurance.
